Modeling the mean interaction forces between powder particles. Application to silica gel-magnesium stearate mixtures. [PDF]
International audienceDry coating experiments were performed by using the Hybridizer (Nara). Large host silica gel (SG) particles (d50 = 55 μm) were coated with fine invited particles of magnesium stearate (MS, d50 = 4.6 μm) for different contents of MS ...

Self healing ability and strength recovery of different laminated Al2O3 cutting tool composites [PDF]
The lifetime of ceramic tool is decreased because of the extension of cracks, and it will be prolonged if the cracks can be self healed. The healing ability of laminated Al2O3 cutting tool composites (Al2O3-(WC-Co)-MgO/Al2O3–TiC–MgO) were assessed.

Characterisation and Performance Optimisation of WC-MC/M(C,N)-Co Hardmetals
WC-MC/M(C,N)-Co hardmetals with 10 wt% Co were prepared in undoped, as well as in either Cr- or V-doped form. The starting formulations contained 5 wt% TiC or 5% (TiC+TiN), the latter with two different TiC/TiN ratios, and 10 wt% (Ta,Nb)C.
