Relation-Theoretic Weak Contractions and Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this article, we discuss the relation-theoretic aspects of weakly contractive mappings to prove fixed point results in the setting of metric spaces endowed with a certain binary relation. We also provide an example and an application to validate of our results.

Fixed Point of Generalized Weak Contraction in b-Metric Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2021
In this manuscript, a class of generalized ψ,α,β-weak contraction is introduced and some fixed point theorems in the framework of b-metric space are proved.

Quasi-Similarity of Weak Contractions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1978
Let T be a completely nonunitary (c.n.u.) weak contraction (in the sense of Sz.-Nagy and Foiaş). We show that T is quasi-similar to the direct sum of its C 0 {C_0} part and C 11 {C_{11}} part. As a corollary, two c.n.u.

Coupled Fixed Point Theorems under Weak Contractions [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
Cho et al. [Comput. Math. Appl. 61(2011), 1254–1260] studied common fixed point theorems on cone metric spaces by using the concept of c‐distance. In this paper, we prove some coupled fixed point theorems in ordered cone metric spaces by using the concept of c‐distance in cone metric spaces.

The notion of $\psi$-weak dependence and its applications to bootstrapping time series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We give an introduction to a notion of weak dependence which is more general than mixing and allows to treat for example processes driven by discrete innovations as they appear with time series bootstrap.

Some fixed point theorems for generalized (psi - phi)-weak contraction mappings in partial metric spaces [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Moravica, 2020
The aim of this paper is to introduce the concepts of generalized (psi - phi)-weak contraction mappings of type (A) and (B) and establish some fixed point theorems for said contraction mappings in complete partial metric spaces.

Fixed Point Theorems In 2-Banach Spaces For Non-expansive Type Conditions

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2022
Fixed point theorems had been established and developed under various non-expansive type conditions on different metric spaces. In this paper, we have generalized (ψ,φ) - weak contractions, which is the generalizations of F-contraction, (ϕ,F ...

Fixed Point Results for Multivalued Mapping in $\mathrm{R}$-Metric Space [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis, 2023
This paper explores certain fixed point results for multivalued mapping in a metric space endowed with an arbitrary binary relation $\mathrm{R}$, briefly written as $\mathrm{R}$-metric space.

Weak theta-phi-contraction and discontinuity

open access: yesThe Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Applications, 2017
Summary: In this paper, we introduce the notion of weak \(\theta\)-\(\phi\)-contraction ensuring a convergence of successive approximations but does not force the mapping to be continuous at the fixed point. Thus, we answer one more solution to the open question raised by \textit{B. E. Rhoades} [Contemp. Math. 72, 233--245 (1988; Zbl 0649.54024)].

Quantum vacuum effects as generalized f(R) gravity. Application to stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
It is assumed that, for weak spacetime curvature, the main gravitational effect of the quantum vacuum stress-energy corresponds to adding two terms to the Einstein-Hilbert action, proportional to the square of the curvature scalar and to the contraction ...
