Magnetic field tuning of an excitonic insulator between the weak and strong coupling regimes in quantum limit graphite

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The excitonic insulator phase has long been predicted to form in proximity to a band gap opening in the underlying band structure. The character of the pairing is conjectured to crossover from weak (BCS-like) to strong coupling (BEC-like) as the ...

Spin-Orbit Coupling, Antilocalization, and Parallel Magnetic Fields in Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate antilocalization due to spin-orbit coupling in ballistic GaAs quantum dots. Antilocalization that is prominent in large dots is suppressed in small dots, as anticipated theoretically. Parallel magnetic fields suppress both antilocalization

Relativistic BCS-BEC Crossover at Quark Level

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2010
The non-relativistic G0G formalism of BCS-BEC crossover at finite temperature is extended to relativistic fermion systems. The theory recovers the BCS mean field approximation at zero temperature and the non-relativistic results in a proper limit.

High-Resolution Mapping of Crossover and Non-crossover Recombination Events by Whole-Genome Re-sequencing of an Avian Pedigree.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2016
Recombination is an engine of genetic diversity and therefore constitutes a key process in evolutionary biology and genetics. While the outcome of crossover recombination can readily be detected as shuffled alleles by following the inheritance of markers

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Single- to many-body crossover of a quantum carpet

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
A strongly interacting many-body system of bosons exhibiting the quantum carpet pattern is investigated exactly by using Gaudin solutions. We show that this highly coherent design usually present in noninteracting, single-body scenarios gets destroyed by

Programmable DNA‐Peptide Hybrid Nanostructures for Potent Neutralization of Multiple Influenza a Virus Subtypes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent antiviral platform based on honeycomb‐shaped DNA nanostructures (HC–Urumin) is developed to enhance the potency and breadth of the host defense peptide Urumin. Through spatially patterned trimeric presentation, HC–Urumin disrupts influenza A virus entry, improves cell viability, and reduces disease severity in vivo‐offering a modular and ...
