Correlated states in β-Li2IrO3 driven by applied magnetic fields
Materials with a Kitaev spin liquid ground state are sought after as models of quantum phases but candidates so far form either zig-zag or incommensurate magnetic order. Ruiz et al.

We report a quantum criticality crossover representing two different universal scaling behaviors in a Kitaev quantum magnetic material α-RuCl3. α-RuCl3 presents both a symmetry-breaking antiferromagnetic order and a long-range entangled topological order

Spreading of waves in nonlinear disordered media
We analyze mechanisms and regimes of wave packet spreading in nonlinear disordered media. We predict that wave packets can spread in two regimes of strong and weak chaos.

Emergent Spin‐Glass Behavior in an Iron(II)‐Based Metal–Organic Framework Glass
A one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis yields an Fe2+‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) glass featuring a continuous random network structure. The material exhibits spin‐glass freezing at 14 K, driven by topological‐disorder and short‐range magnetic frustration, showcasing the potential of MOF glasses as a plattform for cooperative magnetic phenomena in ...

Electrostatically tuned dimensional crossover in LaAlO3/SrTiO3 heterostructures
We report a gate-tunable dimensional crossover in sub-micrometer-scale channels created at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface. Conducting channels of widths 10 nm and 200 nm are created using conducting atomic force microscope lithography.

Hubble selection of the weak scale from QCD quantum critical point
There is growing evidence that the small weak scale may be related to self-organized criticality. In this regard, we note that if the strange quark were lighter, the QCD phase transition could have been first order, possibly exhibiting quantum critical ...

Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Ni1‐Bi1 dual‐atom dopants are achieved for activating Ru lattices without blocking noble atoms. This model exhibits an ultralow overpotential of 11.4 mV and superb stability at 10 mA cm−2 toward hydrogen evolution reaction, enabling a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer that needs only 2.233 V to reach 3.0 A cm−2 and operates stably at 1.0 A cm−

Emergent normal-state Mottness in the infinite-layer NdNiO_{2} superconductor
We present a computational study based on density functional plus dynamical mean-field theory calculations for the normal-state electronic reconstruction of pure and hole-doped NdNiO_{2} superconductors.

Dynamics of a heavy particle in a Luttinger liquid
We study the dynamics of a heavy particle of mass $M$ moving in a one-dimensional repulsively interacting Fermi gas. The Fermi gas is described using the Luttinger model and bosonization.
