Weak-signal iterative holography
Applied Optics, 2015An iterative holographic table-top experiment is presented, where a recorded hologram is used to re-illuminate the initial target. With this beam shaping setup, more light is directed to the target for each iteration until a convergence limit is met. We experimentally examine convergence properties of this iterative hologram reconstruction approach for

Powerful signals for weak muscles
Ageing Research Reviews, 2009The aim of the present review is to summarise, evaluate and critique the different mechanisms involved in anabolic growth of skeletal muscle and the catabolic processes involved in cancer cachexia and sarcopenia of ageing. This is highly relevant, since they represent targets for future promising clinical investigations.

Expert Systems with Applications, 2014
Abstract The weak signal concept according to Ansoff has the aim to advance strategic early warning. It enables to predict the appearance of events in advance that are relevant for an organization. An example is to predict the appearance of a new and relevant technology for a research organization.

Interpreting weak backscattering signals: new results
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2018The interpretation of lidar information was carried out here inverting the weak backscattering signals returned from a homogeneous atmosphere where atmospheric parameters are constant in space. It was performed interpreting weak backscattering signals using the linear approximation and the preliminary calculated value of the extinction coefficient. The

Weak signal enhancement in radar signal processing
20th International Conference Radioelektronika 2010, 2010In through wall tracking of multiple targets it is able to detect many times only a target moving closest to the radar antenna system. It results from the fact that the reflections from targets located further from the radar antennas are very week in comparison to that target. The methods for weak signal enhancement can solve the outlined problem.

GNSS signal acquisition in weak signal condition
2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP), 2014In this paper, a new method for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal acquisition in weak signal condition is considered, mainly on bit transition and accumulation over multiple code periods. The impact of bit transition on the acquisition block is analyzed and an algorithm based on the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) operation is proposed ...

Exploiting vibrational resonance in weak-signal detection
Physical Review E, 2017In this paper, we investigate the first exploitation of the vibrational resonance (VR) effect to detect weak signals in the presence of strong background noise. By injecting a series of sinusoidal interference signals of the same amplitude but with different frequencies into a generalized correlation detector, we show that the detection probability can

Weak Signals in Information Security Management
2005Usually, information security management practices do not explicitly take account of weak signals, factors that lie below the detection surface, which may, however, constitute a huge security threat. This study analyses what kinds of weak signals are present in information security, followed by a discussion on their detection. Responses to weak signals

Detection of Weak Light Signals*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1970The experimental signal-to-noise ratios (S/N) of four photomultiplier light-detection systems are obtained for two values of the dc anode signal and dc anode dark current. The photodetection systems investigated are dc amplifier, lock-in, noise power, and combined lock-in plus noise power.
