Scenario Model for Weak Signal Detection
2011 Seventh International Conference on Signal Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems, 2011Due to multiplication of information sources as blogs or social networks, watchers have to deal with data in different formats and structures. Consequently, an adapted system, helpful for business intelligence activities, able to retrieve and process data from the Web, is required.

Role of Weak Signals in Acoustic Startle
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1970When a relatively weak pulse of noise precedes an intense (startle eliciting) stimulus by 5 msec, the latency of the rat's startle reaction to the intense signal is reduced. When, however, the same pulse of noise precedes the intense stimulus by 150 msec, the startle response to the intense stimulus is inhibited.

Weak signal enhancement in radar signal processing
20th International Conference Radioelektronika 2010, 2010In through wall tracking of multiple targets it is able to detect many times only a target moving closest to the radar antenna system. It results from the fact that the reflections from targets located further from the radar antennas are very week in comparison to that target. The methods for weak signal enhancement can solve the outlined problem.

Survival of the weak (signalers): anergy in CLL
Blood, 2013In this issue of Blood, Apollonio et al report on a subset of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) characterized by molecular anergy and demonstrate how this phenotype could potentially be targeted therapeutically ...

Methods of Registration of Weak Radio Signals
2017In this paper we will consider a problem of registration of radio signals from distant sources, natural pulsars or artificial SETI signals. These signals possess a number of common properties, i.e. they are weak, almost indistinguishable from the background noise, are strongly localized on celestial sphere, have spectral characteristics smeared by ...

Ultrafast Detection Of Weak Signals
SPIE Proceedings, 1988ABSTRACT Femtosecond nonlinear detection techniques for weak signals are discussed. New methods for the characterization of femtosecond sig nals, in amplitude and phase, are presented. 1. INTRODUCTION Several nonlinear detection techniques have been developed with the passively mode- locked dye laser as a source, using the com bination of Rh6G as ...

Phase conjugation of weak signals
LEOS '95. IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society 1995 Annual Meeting. 8th Annual Meeting. Conference Proceedings, 2002We describe investigations into the conjugation of weak signals, corresponding to a few photons. We have used a variety of techniques, combining various methods of Brillouin amplification and phase conjugation with a laser pre-amplifier. Four Brillouin phase conjugation techniques were used to amplify or conjugate the signal, and in the case of ...

Exploiting vibrational resonance in weak-signal detection
Physical Review E, 2017In this paper, we investigate the first exploitation of the vibrational resonance (VR) effect to detect weak signals in the presence of strong background noise. By injecting a series of sinusoidal interference signals of the same amplitude but with different frequencies into a generalized correlation detector, we show that the detection probability can
