Weak Solutions for Parabolic Equations
2018In this chapter, we will deal with the study of the following problem: $$\begin{aligned}&\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}(t,x)-\Delta u(t,x)=f(t,x), \forall (t, x)\in Q_{T}=(0,T)\times \Omega ,\nonumber \\u\forall x\in \Omega ,\\u\forall (t, x)\in (0,T)\times \partial \Omega ,\nonumber \end{aligned}$$ where \(\Omega \) is an open set from \(R^{n}\)

An empirical solution to the puzzle of weakness of will
Synthese, 2018This paper presents an empirical solution to the puzzle of weakness of will. Specifically, it presents a theory of action, grounded in contemporary cognitive neuroscientific accounts of decision making, that explains the phenomenon of weakness of will without resulting in a puzzle.

Finite Elements and Weak Solutions
2013In Chapter 5, we studied the oldest, and in many ways the simplest, class of numerical algorithms for approximating the solutions to partial differential equations: those based on finite difference approximations. In the present chapter, we introduce the second of the two major numerical paradigms: the finite element method.
