Inverse problems for semilinear elliptic PDE with a general nonlinearity a(x,u)$a(x,u)$

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract This article studies the inverse problem of recovering a nonlinearity in an elliptic equation Δu+a(x,u)=0$\Delta u + a(x,u) = 0$ from boundary measurements of solutions. Previous results based on first‐order linearization achieve this under a sign condition on ∂ua(x,u)$\partial _u a(x,u)$, and results based on higher order linearization ...

Fracture Modeling of Nearly Incompressible Hyperelastic Materials: A Phase‐Field Approach via Simo–Taylor–Pister Three‐Field Variation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Incompressibility is commonly observed in the majority of hyperelastic materials, which are fundamental to a wide range of technical applications owing to their distinctive properties, particularly their flexibility, stretchability, and resilience.

Comparison theorems for weak solutions of nonlinear maximally sub-elliptic PDEs

open access: yes
We establish a comparison principle for viscosity subsolutions and supersolutions of a broad class of second-order quasilinear, maximally subelliptic PDEs on general manifolds. In fact, we prove the comparison theorem for a larger class of degenerate subelliptic PDEs.

Toward Knowledge‐Guided AI for Inverse Design in Manufacturing: A Perspective on Domain, Physics, and Human–AI Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 5, October 2026.
This perspective highlights how knowledge‐guided artificial intelligence can address key challenges in manufacturing inverse design, including high‐dimensional search spaces, limited data, and process constraints. It focused on three complementary pillars—expert‐guided problem definition, physics‐informed machine learning, and large language model ...

Nanostructured Deep Eutectic Systems in Healthcare: From Bioactive Solvents to Intelligent Biointerfaces, Wearables, and AI‐Driven Design

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2026.
Beyond the green solvent paradigm, this review redefines Deep Eutectic Systems (DES) as programmable supramolecular nanoassemblies. We survey their biomedical convergence: stabilizing thermolabile mRNA to enable cold chain‐free logistics, reshaping transdermal microneedle delivery, enabling long‐term wearables via eutectogels, and utilizing Generative ...

UniNS: A Neuro‐Symbolic Framework for Structure‐Regularized Causal Modeling of Catalytic Nanorobot Swarms in Confined Tumor Microenvironments

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
UniNS is a hybrid neuro‐symbolic framework that simulates nanoscale swarms in tumor microenvironments by coupling mesoscopic hydrodynamics with structure‐regularized causal discovery. It reduces biochemical prediction errors by 27.3% and dynamically prevents spurious correlations, offering a scalable, thermodynamically consistent testbed for precision ...

Finite Difference Approximation for Linear Stochastic Partial Differential Equations with Method of Lines [PDF]

open access: yes
A stochastic partial differential equation, or SPDE, describes the dynamics of a stochastic process defined on a space-time continuum. This paper provides a new method for solving SPDEs based on the method of lines (MOL).

Magnetically Controlled Mixed Convection Nanofluid Flow With Slip and Suction: Implications for Thermal System Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2026.
This work presents a comprehensive computational investigation of magneto hydrodynamic mixed convection nanofluid flow over a stretching sheet by incorporating the coupled effects of velocity and thermal slip, suction, Brownian motion, thermophoresis, thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and mixed convection. The study provides new insights into the

A Review of Probabilistic and Novel Approaches to Cost Assessment in CCUS Projects

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 860-880, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Although the renewable energy sector is making progress, there is still a long way to go before green energy can be fully utilized. In this context, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies can act as a temporary bridge between a high‐emission past and a low‐emission future.
