An Entourage Approach to the Contraction Principle in Uniform Spaces Endowed with a Graph [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we study Banach contractions in uniform spaces endowed with a graph and give some sufficient conditions for a mapping to be a Picard operator. Our main results generalize some results of [J.

Standard monomial theory for wonderful varieties

open access: yes, 2015
A general setting for a standard monomial theory on a multiset is introduced and applied to the Cox ring of a wonderful variety. This gives a degeneration result of the Cox ring to a multicone over a partial flag variety.

A Review of the Evolution of Research on the Size of Children's Drawings in Relation to Their Expressed Emotion About the Depicted Topic: 1988–2023

open access: yesInternational Journal of Art &Design Education, EarlyView.
Abstract This narrative review examines the relationship between the size of children's drawings and their expressed emotions about the depicted subjects, focusing on research conducted between 1988 and 2023. The studies are presented chronologically to demonstrate how researchers have progressively addressed methodological challenges identified in ...

On the convergence of Lupaş (p,q) $(p,q)$-Bernstein operators via contraction principle

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
The present paper deals with the limit behavior of iterates of Lupaş q- and (p,q) $(p,q)$-Bernstein operators. We obtain the convergence for Lupaş q- and (p,q) $(p,q)$-Bernstein operators by using the contraction principle.

Unequal Solidarity: Club Rules and Crisis Support in the European Polity

open access: yesJCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Is European solidarity during crises due to common or close identities? Or do Europeans punish rule‐breaking countries by showing them less solidarity? Research on the determinants of European solidarity increasingly focuses on ‘solidarity to’, how givers' attitudes are shaped by their perceptions of receiving member states.

A Volterra functional-integral equation, via weakly Picard operators technique [PDF]

open access: yesCarpathian Journal of Mathematics, 2014
In this paper we consider a Volterra functional-integral equation with linear modifications of the arguments. We use weakly Picard operators’ technique and we obtain existence and data dependence results for the solutions.

Krasnoselskii's theorem in generalized Banach spaces and application

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
The purpose of this paper is to extend Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem to the case of generalized Banach spaces for singlevalued and multivalued operators.

The Core‐Periphery Model Under Additively Separable Preferences

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 378-402, March 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper reexamines Krugman's core‐periphery model by substituting his constant elasticity of substitution (CES) utility with a general additively separable utility that comprehensively captures the pro‐competitive effect while preserving the income effect.

Differential equations with modified argument, via weakly Picard operators’ theory [PDF]

open access: yesCarpathian Journal of Mathematics, 2013
In this paper we use Picard and weakly Picard operators technique, introduced by Ioan A. Rus, to study a class of differential equations with modified argument and a boundary value problem for this kind of equations. We obtain existence, uniqueness, comparison and data dependence results.

Integrable hierarchies and the mirror model of local CP1

open access: yes, 2011
We study structural aspects of the Ablowitz-Ladik (AL) hierarchy in the light of its realization as a two-component reduction of the two-dimensional Toda hierarchy, and establish new results on its connection to the Gromov-Witten theory of local CP1.
