Locally finite profinite rings

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate the structure of locally finite profinite rings. We classify (Jacobson-) semisimple locally finite profinite rings as products of complete matrix rings of bounded cardinality over finite fields, and we prove that the Jacobson radical of ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Some Results on W-regular Rings

open access: yesNTU Journal of Pure Sciences
Von Neumann regular rings, introduced in 1936, form a cornerstone of abstract algebra and were later extended to weakly regular rings. This work considers another extension, the W-regular rings defined by Wei [6], and explores their properties and ...

Study and characterization of some classes of polymatroidal ideals

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2022
Introduction Throughout this paper, we consider monomial ideals of the polynomial ring  over a filed. We try to give some properties of the polymatroidal ideals, which are the special class of monomial ideals.

Tight Closure of Certain Submodules of the Top Local Cohomology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Let (R,m) be a d-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local ring of prime characteristic. Then the top local cohomology module H^d_m(R) carries important information of R. So we will study the tight closure of submodules of H^d_m(R). It is shown that R is weakly F-

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Positivstellensatz for projective real varieties

open access: yes, 2011
Given two positive definite forms f, g in R[x_0,...,x_n], we prove that fg^N is a sum of squares of forms for all sufficiently large N >= 0. We generalize this result to projective R-varieties X as follows.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

On the Consistency of Twisted Generalized Weyl Algebras

open access: yes, 2011
A twisted generalized Weyl algebra A of degree n depends on a base algebra R, n commuting automorphisms s_i of R, n central elements t_i of R and on some additional scalar parameters.
