Regular Solutions to the Coagulation Equations with Singular Kernels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this article we prove the existence of solutions to the coagulation equation with singular kernels. We use weighted L^1-spaces to deal with the singularities in order to obtain regular solutions. The Smoluchowski kernel is covered by our proof.

Localized Frames and Compactness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We introduce the concept of weak-localization for generalized frames and use this concept to define a class of weakly localized operators. This class contains many important operators, including: Short Time Fourier Transform multipliers, Calderon ...

Shape derivatives of boundary integral operators in electromagnetic scattering. Part I: Shape differentiability of pseudo-homogeneous boundary integral operators

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study the shape differentiability properties of a class of boundary integral operators and of potentials with weakly singular pseudo-homogeneous kernels acting between classical Sobolev spaces, with respect to smooth deformations of the ...

An efficient spectral method for nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis
For Volterra integro-differential equations (VIDEs) with weakly singular kernels, their solutions are singular at the initial time. This property brings a great challenge to traditional numerical methods. Here, we investigate the numerical approximation

Neutral functional integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1990
Using the framework of the semigroup theory, this paper investigates the relations between the solutions of a linear functional differential equation of neutral-type and the corresponding infinitesimal generator of the \(C_ 0\)-semigroup. The techniques of the Laplace transform and the infinitesimal generator on an appropriate product space are ...

Bernoulli Polynomials Method for Solving Integral Equations with Singular Kernel

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم
There is always an interest in an effective technique to generate a numerical solution of integral equations with singular or weakly singular kernels more precisely because numerical methods have limitations.

Nonlinear impulsive differential and integral inequalities with nonlocal jump conditions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
Some new nonlinear impulsive differential and integral inequalities with nonlocal integral jump conditions are presented in this paper. Using the method of mathematical induction, we obtain a new upper bound estimation of certain differential and ...

Interpolation method for solving Volterra integral equations with weakly singular kernel using an advanced barycentric Lagrange formula

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2022
We presented an interpolation method for solving weakly singular Volterra integral equations of the second kind (SVK2). The method based on the barycentric Lagrange interpolation.. For the chosen nodes of the two singular kernel variables, we created two

Multi-Component BEM for the Helmholtz Equation: A Normal Derivative Method

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2012
We describe a multi-component boundary element method for predicting wave energy distributions in a complex built-up system with material properties changing discontinuously at boundaries between sub-components.

Numerical solutions and their superconvergence for weakly singular integral equations with discontinuous coefficients

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 1998
The piecewise polynomial collocation method is discussed to solve second kind Fredholm integral equations with weakly singular kernels K (t, s) which may be discontinuous at s = d, d = const. The main result is given in Theorem 4.1.
