Weakly symmetric spaces and bounded symmetric domains
Let \((M= G/K,g)\) be a homogeneous Riemannian manifold and \(I(M,g)\) its isometry group. Following A. Selberg, \((M,g)\) is said to be weakly symmetric if there exists an element \(\mu\in I(M,g)\) satisfying \(\mu G\mu^{-1} =G\) and \(\mu^2 \in G\) such that for any given \(x,y \in M\), there exists a \(\gamma\in G\) such that \(\gamma x= \mu y\) and

Weakly conformally symmetric manifolds
We study the properties of weakly conformally symmetric pseudo-Riemannian manifolds, with particular emphasis on the 4-dimensional Lorentzian case. We provide a decomposition of the conformal curvature tensor in dimensions n ≥ 5. Moreover, some identities involving two particular covectors are stated; for example it is proven that under certain ...

A note on weakly symmetric manifolds
Summary: The object of the present paper is to determine the nature of the associated \(1\)-forms of a weakly symmetric manifold.

WEAKLY SYMMETRIC FINSLER SPACES
Communications in Contemporary Mathematics, 2010In this paper, we introduce the notion of weakly symmetric Finsler spaces and study some geometrical properties of such spaces. In particular, we prove that each maximal geodesic in a weakly symmetric Finsler space is the orbit of a one-parameter subgroup of the full isometric group.

On weakly symmetric and weakly Ricci symmetric warped product manifolds
Publicationes Mathematicae Debrecen, 2012This paper is concerned with some results on weakly symmetric and weakly Ricci symmetric warped product manifolds. We prove the necessary and su-ci- ent condition for a warped product manifold to be weakly symmetric and weakly Ricci symmetric. On the basis of these results two proper examples of warped product weakly symmetric and weakly Ricci ...

Generalized weakly symmetric Sasakian manifolds
2023Summary: In this parer, we give a necessary condition for Sasakian manifolds to be generalized weakly symmetric. We prove the odd-dimensional spheres are the only generalized weakly symmetric Sasakian manifolds. Then, we show that generalized weakly Ricci-symmetric Sasakian manifolds are Einstein.

Generalized weakly symmetric rings
Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 2014An associative ring \(R\) with identity is called generalized weakly symmetric (GWS) if for any \(a,b,c\in R\), \(abc=0\) implies that the element \(bac\) is nilpotent. Commutative rings, reduced rings and symmetric rings are all GWS. The author establishes several interesting results on GWS rings, such as: (1) a ring \(R\) is GWS if and only if the ...

Weakly symmetric algebras of Euclidean type
Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 2005The paper deals with the problem of a classification of selfinjective representation-infinite domestic (finite-dimensional) algebras over an algebraically closed field \(K\). It is known from [(*) \textit{A. Skowroński}, Math. Ann. 285, No. 2, 177-199 (1989; Zbl 0653.16021)] that the class of selfinjective representation-infinite domestic algebras ...

Weakly Symmetric Fix-Free Codes
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2014Bidirectional decoding improves the error resilience of the fix-free codes, which is important in some applications like video coding. However, in general, two separate decoders must be designed for forward and backward decoding and hence, the cost of decoding is almost doubled.
