Exactly Restricting the Phenyl Ring Rotation in Metal‐Organic Framework for Ultra‐Sensitive and Specific Ratiometric Fluorescent Sensing of Sarin

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
A goal‐oriented MOF design strategy is proposed to realize the ultra‐sensitive and specific detection of sarin/DCP through the rotation restricted emission mechanism. The hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction between the CTTB ligand and DCP efficiently lead to a dramatic change in molecular configuration, significantly enhancing the fluorescence

Biological weapons

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Life Sciences CMLS, 2006
Brucella has traditionally been considered a biological weapon. It was the subject of extensive offensive research in the past, and still belongs to category B pathogens on most lists. Its propensity for airborne transmission and induction of chronic debilitating disease requiring combined antibiotic regimens for treatment, its abundance around the ...

Harnessing the Biological Responses Induced by Nanomaterials for Enhanced Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
Nanomaterial (NM)‐induced toxicity can be strategically repurposed for cancer therapy. This review summarizes the mechanism by which NMs selectively activate specific cellular processes to regulate cell fate independently. We also discussed how NMs‐induced biological responses can be leveraged as therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.

Driving force coordinated control of an 8×8 in-wheel motor drive vehicle with tire-road friction coefficient identification

open access: yesDefence Technology, 2022
Because of the complexities of tire-road interaction, the wheels of a multi-wheel distributed electric drive vehicle can easily slip under certain working conditions.

Joint Situational Assessment‐Hierarchical Decision‐Making Framework for Maneuver Intent Decisions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new framework for decision‐making in unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), integrating graph convolutional networks and hierarchical reinforcement learning (HRL). The method tackles adopts a curriculum‐based training approach guided by cross‐entropy rewards.

Community‐engaged crime prevention through environmental design and reductions in violent and firearm crime

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract In the U.S., crime and violence are concentrated in cities that have lost industry and population due to economic disinvestment and structurally racist policies. Researchers, practitioners, and policymakers have called for community‐level approaches that reduce violence in these cities by improving unsafe physical environments, increasing ...

Accelerated synthesis of energetic precursor cage compounds using confined volume systems

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Confined volume systems, such as microdroplets, Leidenfrost droplets, or thin films, can accelerate chemical reactions. Acceleration occurs due to the evaporation of solvent, the increase in reactant concentration, and the higher surface-to-volume ratios
