Wearable devices for telemedicine applications

Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, 2005
Wearable medical devices can provide both continuous monitoring and ubiquitous treatment. Challenges in this area include the need for a low-power/power-saving design to extend battery life and to reduce the size of the battery itself. This is followed by size and weight restrictions to meet patient expectations of what is ‘wearable’, the ...

Stretchable and Wearable Electrochromic Devices

ACS Nano, 2013
Stretchable and wearable WO3 electrochromic devices on silver nanowire (AgNW) elastic conductors are reported. The stretchable devices are mechanically robust and can be stretched, twisted, folded, and crumpled without performance failure. Fast coloration (1 s) and bleaching (4 s) time and good cyclic stability (81% retention after 100 cycles) were ...

Wearable wireless biopotential measurement device

The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005
A light wearable wireless biopotential measurement device built up of commercial components is presented. The device utilizes 868 MHz ISM license free frequency band. Very low noise and good interference rejection is achieved using three electrode differential amplifier design and wireless signal transfer.

Wearable Dialysis Devices

2016
Although peritoneal dialysis is a form of portable and wearable dialysis, it requires patients to use fresh dialysate and either perform a number of manual daytime exchanges or use a cycler machine. As such the search has been to develop internal implantable, or external wearable or portable, devices that do not rely on a supply of fresh dialysate, so ...

Wearable Health Devices

2016
What other types of personal health information can be readily collected? Most health-related measurements are administered in or through a doctor’s office and are typically taken when we are sick; the measurements that are taken when we are healthy are infrequent, and we often...
