Solvent‐Free Synthesis of Ultrabright Carbon Dots With Near‐Unity Quantum Yield for High‐Performance Light‐Emitting Diodes

A rational, solvent‐free synthesis utilizing 2,6‐diaminonaphthalene produces ultrabright green‐emissive carbon dots. Regulated by a self‐limiting oxidative capping mechanism, excitons undergo ultrafast intra‐particle funneling from the nitrogen‐doped carbon core to emissive surface traps.
