This chapter discusses about the veracity of data. The veracity issue is the challenge of imprecision in big data due to influx of data from diverse sources. To overcome this problem, this chapter proposes a fuzzy knowledge-based framework that will enhance the accessibility of Web data and solve the inconsistency in data model.

As the number of Internet users and the number of accessible Web pages grows, it is becoming increasingly difficult for users to find documents that are relevant to their particular needs. Users must either browse through a large hierarchy of concepts to find the information for which they are looking or submit a query to a publicly available search ...

to mankind, and this universe is evolving. Many people now see Web Services as the next generation in the Web’s evolution. In the traditional Web model, the main activity is browsing: users follow hypertext links. In the Web Services model, the main activity is remote procedure calling: users invoke preprepared tasks that facilitate some useful ...

This chapter presents the concept of “intelligent web” as a synergic combination of Web 2.0 and Semantic Web technologies. In the Web evolution scenario, Web 2.0 has reached a large diffusion: the use of social networks, wikis and blogs, is now a common practice, promoting user participation and collaboration.

Intelligent Web representatives
Proceedings 11th International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence, 2003We present the design and implementation of an intelligent Web representative based on prevalent Internet and Web technologies. The design includes three parts: natural language parser, knowledge representation, and communication between the user and the computer.

From computational intelligence to Web intelligence
Computer, 2002The authors explore three topics in computational intelligence: machine translation, machine learning and user interface design and speculate on their effects on Web intelligence. Systems that can communicate naturally and learn from interactions will power Web intelligence's long term success.

As we use the Web for social networking, shopping, and news, we leave a personal trail. These days, linger over a Web page selling lamps, and they will turn up at the advertising margins as you move around the Internet, reminding you, tempting you to make that purchase.
