Exploring Preferences for a Digital Single‐Session Intervention for Adolescent Siblings of Youth With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adolescent siblings of children with cancer are at elevated risk for psychosocial problems. Unfortunately, various barriers such as limited family time and resources, conflicting schedules, and psychosocial staffing constraints at cancer centers hinder sibling access to support.

Implementing Health‐Related Quality of Life Assessment in Pediatric Oncology: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is growing interest in embedding health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) assessment and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) within clinical cancer care. This study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of implementing an electronic PROM (ePROM) platform to measure HRQoL in children with cancer ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The effectiveness of CFRP strengthening of steel plate girders with web opening subjected to shear

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The present study is experimental by nature; it involves applying shear buckling test on seven steel-plated girders that are subjected to shear loading.

Structural analysis of a composite continuous girder with a single rectangular web opening

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2017
In the design of most bridge girders with composite girders composed of steel–concrete composite plate girders, an opening in the steel girder is often used to provide passage for utility ducts and pipes.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

On the Shear Force Redistribution in Composite Steel and Concrete Beams with Web Openings

open access: yesBuildings
As far as research into the field of composite steel and concrete beams with web openings has shown, the initiation of a complex stress state due to the introduction of web openings is, unfortunately, inevitable.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
