Unveiling the Electrolyte and Solid Electrolyte Interphase in Sodium Ion Batteries: Mechanisms, Progress, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the recent advances in sodium‐ion battery electrolytes (including organic, aqueous, gel, ionic liquid, and solid‐state types) and their influence on the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). It discusses SEI formation, aging, and optimization, as well as cases where no SEI forms, providing insights into the critical relationship ...

PURE: A webserver for the prediction of domains in unassigned regions in proteins

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2008
Background Protein domains are the structural and functional units of proteins. The ability to parse proteins into different domains is important for effective classification, understanding of protein structure, function, and evolution and is hence ...

Mining Context-based User Preferences for m-Services Applications

open access: yesIEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence (WI'07), 2007
We have designed a new storage grid called Storage@desk to harness unused storage available on desktop machines and turn it into a useful resource for clients. Given the complexity of managing clientspecific QoS requirements, and the dynamism inherent in supply and demand for resources, even a highly experienced system administrator cannot effectively ...

Size‐Dependent Contact Angles of Microscopic Droplets on Ultra‐Smooth Silanized Surfaces Probed by Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Wetting is vital in many technologies, but remains hard to predict due to complex phase interactions. Young's law predicts macroscale wetting on ideal surfaces, while line tension theory is limited to nanoscale droplets. Here, using AFM, the scale gap is bridged by focusing on microscopic droplets and predicting their contact angle on real surfaces ...

SQL Injection Detection Using Machine Learning Techniques and Multiple Data Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
SQL Injection continues to be one of the most damaging security exploits in terms of personal information exposure as well as monetary loss. Injection attacks are the number one vulnerability in the most recent OWASP Top 10 report, and the number of ...

Non‐Hermitian Topological Lattice Photonics: An Analytic Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This review establishes exact analytical solutions for non‐Hermitian Hatano–Nelson, Su–Schrieffer–Heeger, and generalized Rice–Mele models. We demonstrate non‐Hermitian skin effects via point‐gap topology, hybrid skin‐topological edge states in 2D lattices, and spin‐polarized boundary modes governed by dual bulk‐boundary correspondence.

An Investigation of Term Weighting and Feature Selection Methods for Sentiment Analysis

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
Sentiment analysis automatically classifies the opinions, which are expressed in a document, usually as positive or negative. A review document in general, reflects its author’s opinion about the objects mentioned in the text.

Factors Driving Battery and Solar Purchase Decision of Residents: a Behavioural Choice Experiment Using a Hybrid Discrete Choice and Latent Variable Model

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This article explores what drives households to adopt solar PV and battery systems in South East Queensland. Using hybrid discrete choice experiments, it reveals distinct adopter profiles and highlights cost, system size, and energy independence as key motivators.

Life Factors and Melanoma: From the Macroscopic State to the Molecular Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer, arises from dynamic interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. This review explores how age, gender, obesity, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol, UV exposure, circadian rhythms, and medications influence melanoma risk and progression.

Dynamic Neural Deactivation Bridges Direct and Competitive Inhibition Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dynamic neural deactivation bridges traditionally distinct inhibitory mechanisms—direct inhibition and competition‐induced inhibition—revealing a common neural signature across modalities. Multimodal neuroimaging and behavioral experiments demonstrate a temporal dynamic characterized by progressive frontoparietal activation decay and enhanced sensory ...
