Automatic Query Type Classification for Web Image Retrieval

open access: closed2007 International Conference on Multimedia and Ubiquitous Engineering (MUE'07), 2007
In this paper, a framework of query classification is proposed for text-based image retrieval. The classification process in this framework consists of three phases. In the first phase, two basic classifiers are employed to classify the image query into certain categories.

Personalized and Enhanced Hybridized Semantic Algorithm for web image retrieval incorporating ontology classification, strategic query expansion, and content-based analysis

Computers & Electrical Engineering, 2018
Abstract Most of the existing web search systems are query-centric and are not user-centric. Mining images from the Web is a challenging task as it requires choosing the right methodology. A strategy that recommends images for homonyms and contextually similar terms have been proposed.

Automatic classification of deep web databases with simple query interface

open access: closed2009 International Conference on Industrial Mechatronics and Automation, 2009
Deep Web database classify is a key operation in organizing Deep Web resources. We address the problem of identifying the domain of web databases with simple query interface. The existing methods can not effectively classify this type of web databases, to solve this problem, we propose an new framework that can automatically and accurately classify web

Robust classification of rare queries using web knowledge

open access: closedProceedings of the 30th annual international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2007
We propose a methodology for building a practical robust query classification system that can identify thousands of query classes with reasonable accuracy, while dealing in real-time with the query volume of a commercial web search engine. We use a blind feedback technique: given a query, we determine its topic by classifying the web search results ...

A Feature-Free Flexible Approach to Topical Classification of Web Queries

open access: closed2011 Seventh International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids, 2011
The task of topical classification of Web queries is to classify Web queries into a set of target categories. Machine learning based conventional approaches usually rely on external sources of information to obtain additional features for Web queries and training data for target categories.

Deep Web Data Source Classification Based on Query Interface Context

open access: closed2012 Fourth International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences, 2012
As the volume of information in the Deep Web grows, a Deep Web data source classification algorithm based on query interface context is presented. Two methods are combined to get the search interface similarity. One is based on the vector space. The classical TF-IDF statistics are used to gain the similarity between search interfaces.

Classification of Student Web Queries

2017 IEEE 7th Annual Computing and Communication Workshop and Conference (CCWC), 2017
The number of mobile devices used in the K-12 learning space has been growing steadily. Most school-issued devices that connect to the Internet are required to have web filters installed on them. These web filters are designed to filter out inappropriate content and log student activity online.

Course Recommendation Based on Query Classification Approach

International Journal of Web-Based Learning and Teaching Technologies, 2018
This article describes how with a non-formal education, a scholar has to choose courses among various domains to meet the research aims. In spite of this, the availability of large number of courses, makes the process of selecting the appropriate course ...

Query Classification based Information Retrieval System

2018 International Conference on Intelligent Informatics and Biomedical Sciences (ICIIBMS), 2018
Information Retrieval (IR) system finds the relevant documents from a large dataset according to the user query. Queries submitted by users to search engines might be ambiguous, concise and their meaning may change over time.
