This study presents a 3D representative volume element‐based simulation approach to predict mesoscopic residual stress and strain fields in silicon solid solution‐strengthened ductile cast iron. By modeling phase transformation kinetics with an enhanced Johnson–Mehl–Avrami–Kolmogorov model, the effects of varying cooling rates on residual stresses are ...

Multimedia standards: building blocks of the Web [PDF]
These days in multimedia, there are many standards for composing multimedia on the Web, but now rather than choosing one, you use all of them together. Proliferations of standards, by no means unique to multimedia, always bring about analogies with the Tower of Babel.

Powder Metallurgy Preparation of Metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge Alloys for Medical Applications
This study develops metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge alloys using powder metallurgy for biomedical implants. The Ti–10Cr–2Ge alloy exhibits superior mechanical performance with high yield strength (>1100 MPa), low Young's modulus (<85 GPa), and excellent strain hardening behavior.
