Wheat‐Based Inks With Pea Protein Incorporation for 3D Printing Free of Flow Enhancers and Stabilizers: Effects on Rheological Properties and Printing Fidelity

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2026.
Increasing pea protein isolate (0%–35%) in wheat‐based inks enhanced viscoelastic modulus and post‐shear viscosity, improving self‐supporting capacity after 3D printing. However, elevated temperature (50°C) increased the loss factor (tan δ), reducing printing fidelity. Optimal printability was achieved at 20°C with 25% PPI and 50% water.

Wood Sawdust as a Low‐Cost Filler in Whole‐Tire Reclaimed Rubber: Mechanical Characterization and Factory‐Scale Cost Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 41, November 5, 2026.
Whole‐tire reclaimed rubber is upgraded with wood sawdust, a carpentry by‐product available at no cost, across loadings from 0 to 20 wt%. At 5 wt%, tensile strength, elongation, hardness, viscosity, and water absorption all stay within commercial specification, and real factory data show an annual production saving near $62,000 with no capital ...

Bottlebrush Polyolefin Sulfones as Triggerable and Degradable Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 41, 5 October 2026.
A grafting‐through alternating copolymerization strategy yields poly(norbornene sulfone) bottlebrush polymers with high molar mass. These materials function as additive‐free pressure‐sensitive adhesives. The incorporation of cleavable sulfone units enables rapid breakdown under mild alkaline conditions, providing a pathway toward sustainable, high ...

Novel Microparticulation of Pea Protein: Structural Transformation, Enhanced Gelation, Dispersion Stability, and Off‐Taste Masking

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 6, November 2026.
Alkaline treatment followed by thermal processing, high‐pressure homogenization, and spray drying for the preparation of microparticulated pea protein isolate (MPPI) powder. ABSTRACT Pea protein isolate (PPI) suffers from poor solubility, weak gel‐forming ability, and undesirable sensory attributes that limit its wider adoption in plant‐based food ...

Mechanically robust biochar‐modified polystyrene foam with enhanced flame retardancy using halogen‐free additives

open access: yesPolymer International, Volume 75, Issue 11, Page 1147-1161, November 2026.
Halogen‐free biocomposite polystyrene foams were fabricated via pilot‐scale supercritical CO2 extrusion using expandable graphite, melamine polyphosphate, biochar, and recycled polymer. The optimized formulation exhibited refined cellular morphology, enhanced flame retardancy (limiting oxygen index of 25%, rapid self‐extinguishing), and improved ...
