Der Gemeindeverband für Umweltschutz in der Region Amstetten ist verantwortlich für das Abfallmanagement in 35 Gemeinden Niederösterreichs. Neben der "normalen" Müllabfuhr für mehr als 100.000 Einwohner betreibt der GVU Amstetten Umweltberatung und zusätzlich 950 Sammelstellen für Glas, Papier, Plastik, Metall und Sondermüll.
