Evaluating digital libraries with webmetrics
We report preliminary lessons from a year of webmetrics research with two digital libraries. Despite the apparent 'plug-and-play-and-report' nature of webmetrics tools, much work was required to extract useful data from the tools used.

The Webmetrics Project - Exploiting 'Software Tools on Demand’ [PDF]
This paper presents a client/server stateless server architecture to implement collaborative data collection by means of several software tools. Each of the tools can be downloaded as needed in an “on demand” fashion. Security and accounting features are supported. An implemented example is shown based on a metric collection problem.
