The Wedge Product and Analytic Geometry
The American Mathematical Monthly, 2008To do this, we show that it is possible to introduce simple ^-vectors?those of the form ax a A ak where ax,... , ak are vectors in some Rn?as geometric objects. In calculus or an introductory physics class, one sometimes hears a vector described as an equivalence class of directed line segments.

non traditional geometry for wedge splitting test
2021The wedge-splitting test is widely used in the testing of fracture mechanical parameters of concrete or concrete-like materials. This test provides a stable crack propagation, which was analysed on a cube specimen. Another interesting application for measuring fracture mechanical properties combines wedge-splitting test with a three-point bending test.

Elastic Waves in Cylindrical Metal Wedges with Different Geometries [PDF]
The article presents results of numerical simulation and experimental studies of elastic wedge wave propagation in cylindrical wedges with positive and negative curvature in the 100–600 kHz frequency range. It is shown that wedge waves in such structures have dispersion and their localization at the edge of the wedge is stronger than that of straight ...

Geometry and kinematics of extensional structural wedges
Tectonophysics, 2017Abstract Structural wedges in the compressive environment have been recognized and studied in different locations. However, extension structural wedges are less well-understood. Based on the normal fault-bend folding theory and inclined shear model, this paper quantitatively analyses deformations related to extensional structural wedges and builds a ...

Tectonic wedges: geometry and kinematic interpretation
Journal of Structural Geology, 1994Abstract The geometry of several tectonic wedge combinations was studied in an outcrop in the Basque Basin, Western Pyrenees. Three types of tectonic wedges were distinguished: simple, double and triple wedge. On the surface the geometry of the observed tectonic wedges is always highly elemental: emergent thrust, horse or klippe.

Branched polymers attached in a wedge geometry
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1987The authors use exact enumeration and Monte Carlo techniques to test some recent predictions by Duplantier and Saleur (1986) of the values of the critical exponent gamma for uniform star-branched polymers in a wedge geometry in two dimensions. Results support their predictions.

Branched polymers in a wedge geometry in three dimensions
Journal of Statistical Physics, 1990We investigate the statistical and dimensional properties of uniform star polymers attached by the branching vertex of degreef in a wedge geometry in three dimensions and described by the wedge anglesθ andφ. We show that the growth constant is equal toμ f , whereμ is the self-avoiding walk limit.
