Heat Transfer on a Double Wedge Geometry in Hypervelocity Air and Nitrogen Flows [PDF]
We investigate shock wave/boundary-layer interaction and resulting heat transfer in hypervelocity double wedge flows. An expansion tube is used to generate air and nitrogen flows with stagnation enthalpies ranging from 2.1-8.0 MJ/kg and Mach numbers from 4-7.

Analysis of Wedge Lock Washer using the Finite Element Method [PDF]
Washers with a so-called wedge-locking effect are available for the engineering industry. The manufacturer assures, as confirmed by the Junker vibration test, that the tension in the thread increases when the screw is unscrewed.

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Abstract Purpose MRI is increasingly used for brain and head and neck radiotherapy treatment planning due to its superior soft tissue contrast. Flexible array coils can be arranged to encompass treatment immobilization devices, which do not fit in diagnostic head/neck coils. Selecting a flexible coil arrangement to replace a diagnostic coil should rely

Influence of rock mass spatial variability on probability of tunnel roof wedge failure
In tunnel design and construction, the stability evaluation of tunnel roof wedge usually adopts traditional deterministic analysis methods, which cannot appropriately reflect the spatial variability of rock mass.

Treatment planning with a 2.5 MV photon beam for radiation therapy
Abstract Purpose The shallow depth of maximum dose and higher dose fall‐off gradient of a 2.5 MV beam along the central axis that is available for imaging on linear accelerators is investigated for treatment of shallow tumors and sparing the organs at risk (OARs) beyond it.

Digital radiography image quality evaluation using various phantoms and software
Abstract Purpose To investigate the effect of the exposure parameters on image quality (IQ) metrics of phantom images, obtained automatically using software or from visual evaluation. Methods Three commercial phantoms and a homemade phantom constructed according to the instructions given in the IAEA Human Health Series No.
