The assessment of time dependent flow of Williamson fluid with radiative blood flow against a wedge

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2020
The present pagination reports both Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis aspects subject to magnetohydrodynamic Williamson fluid model. Assuming the flow is unsteady and blood is treated as Williamson fluid over a wedge with radiation.

A Study of the Dependence of the Mach Stem Height on the Trailing Edge Height

open access: yesFluids, 2021
The Mach stem height is an important parameter in the Mach reflection of steady supersonic flow. Various experimental, numerical, and theoretical works have been conducted to study this parameter in the past. However, much of the established work focuses

Formation of magnetic flux tubes in cylindrical wedge geometry [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical & Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics, 2012
Three-dimensional (3D) MHD numerical simulations have not been able to demonstrate convincingly the spontaneous formation of large vertical flux tubes. Two-dimensional (2D) magnetoconvection in axisymmetric cylinders forms a central magnetic flux tube surrounded by annular convection rings.

Surface Plasmon Interferometer Based on Wedge Metal Waveguide and Its Sensing Applications

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
We propose a surface plasmon interferometer based on a wedge metal waveguide. Working principles of the device are introduced through theoretical analyses.

Stress–singularity analysis in space junctions of thin plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The stress singularity in space junctions of thin linearly elastic isotropic plate elements with zero bending rigidities is investigated. The problem for an intersection of infinite wedge-shaped elements is considered first and the solution for each ...

Stark effect in a wedge-shaped quantum box

open access: yes, 2006
The effect of an external applied electric field on the electronic ground state energy of a quantum box with a geometry defined by a wedge is studied by carrying out a variational calculation.

Failure mechanisms and mechanical behavior of wedge-containing tunnel roof rock mass under biaxial loading

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology
The stability of underground tunnel roofs is strongly influenced by wedge blocks formed by complex joint networks. The mechanical behavior and failure mechanisms of different roof wedge blocks in arched holes were investigated under biaxial stress ...

Electromagnetic Casimir densities for a wedge with a coaxial cylindrical shell

open access: yes, 2007
Vacuum expectation values of the field square and the energy-momentum tensor for the electromagnetic field are investigated for the geometry of a wedge with a coaxal cylindrical boundary.

Experimental dataset on aluminium wedge slamming: Measurements of acceleration, pressure, strain, and video data

open access: yesData in Brief
This paper presents data from three experimental campaigns investigating slamming loads on a three-dimensional non-prismatic aluminium wedge, complementing the original research article “Slamming loads and responses on a non-prismatic stiffened aluminium

Stress estimations from fault geometries applied to sand‐box accretionary wedges [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2001
Analysis of stress distribution along imbricate surfaces within a sand‐box model of an accretionary wedge is used to calculate the condition for slip along an active frontal fault and the basal dećollement. The same theory is applied for finding the stress limit that allows formation of a new fault in front of the sand wedge.
