The Simplicial EHP Sequence in A1-Algebraic Topology [PDF]

open access: yesGeom. Topol. 23 (2019) 1691-1777, 2014
We give a tool for understanding simplicial desuspension in A1-algebraic topology: we show that $X \to \Omega (S^1 \wedge X)\to \Omega (S^1 \wedge X \wedge X)$ is a fiber sequence up to homotopy in 2-localized A1-algebraic topology for $X = (S^1)^m \wedge G_m^{\wedge q}$ with $m>1$.

Area law unification and the holographic event horizon

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We prove a new, large family of area laws in general relativity, which apply to certain classes of untrapped surfaces that we dub generalized holographic screens.

Surface Plasmon Interferometer Based on Wedge Metal Waveguide and Its Sensing Applications

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
We propose a surface plasmon interferometer based on a wedge metal waveguide. Working principles of the device are introduced through theoretical analyses.

Min-max theory for free boundary minimal hypersurfaces in locally wedge-shaped manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We develop a min-max theory for the area functional in the class of locally wedge-shaped manifolds. Roughly speaking, a locally wedge-shaped manifold is a Riemannian manifold that is allowed to have both boundary and certain types of edges. Fix a dimension $3 \le n+1 \le 6$. As our main theorem, we prove that every compact locally wedge-shaped manifold

Deformed super brackets on forms of a manifold [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Given a manifold, we have a super bracket on the graded algebra of differential forms by {A,B} = (-1)^{a} d(A \wedge B). We study when {A,B}_{t} = (-1)^{a} d(A \wedge B) + F(a,b) A \wedge t \phi \wedge B becomes super bracket for a 1-form \phi. And we show a concrete small example where the situation of parameter t is not identical.

Curvature estimates for stable free boundary minimal hypersurfaces in locally wedge-shaped manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this paper, we consider locally wedge-shaped manifolds, which are Riemannian manifolds that are allowed to have both boundary and certain types of edges. We define and study the properties of free boundary minimal hypersurfaces inside locally wedge-shaped manifolds. In particular, we show a compactness theorem for free boundary minimal hypersurfaces

Casimir Effect for a Semitransparent Wedge and an Annular Piston [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.D80:125028,2009, 2009
We consider the Casimir energy due to a massless scalar field in a geometry of an infinite wedge closed by a Dirichlet circular cylinder, where the wedge is formed by $\delta$-function potentials, so-called semitransparent boundaries. A finite expression for the Casimir energy corresponding to the arc and the presence of both semitransparent potentials

Interpretation and analysis of seismic and analog modeling data of triangle zone: a case study from the frontal part of western Kura foreland fold-and-thrust belt, Georgia

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
2D seismic reflection profiles revealed the presence of a triangle zone at the frontal part of the western Kura foreland fold-and-thrust belt of the pro-wedge of the Greater Caucasus.

Numerical study and pilot evaluation of experimental data measured on specimen loaded by bending and wedge splitting forces [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2017
The fracture mechanical properties of silicate based materials are determined from various fracture mechanicals tests, e.g. three- or four- point bending test, wedge splitting test, modified compact tension test etc.
