Material Removal in WEDM of PCD Blanks
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1994Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools are now widely used in machining a large variety of advanced materials. However, the manufacture of PCD tool blanks is not an economical and efficient process. The shaping of PCD blanks with conventional machining methods (such as grinding), is a long, labor-intensive and costly process.

Study on High-Speed WEDM in Gas
Key Engineering Materials, 2006This paper investigates the influence on finish high-speed Wire-cut Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) in atmosphere and emulsion liquid. Experimental results have shown that WEDM in atmosphere offers a series of advantages such as better straightness accuracy and higher removal rate (material removal rate).

Research on Micro Gear Design for WEDM
Advanced Materials Research, 2011WEDM (Wire Electrical Discharge Machining) is an effective method for machining micro gears. In this paper, aiming at WEDM characteristics, the gear design method is discussed. Based on gear meshing theory, the gear tooth profiles are generated. Mesh interference and wire path for WEDM algorithms are presented.

Research on Corner Control Strategy of the WEDM
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Corner machining accuracy has always been one of the important properties of WEDM. In this paper, the reasons for the corner error of the WEDM were discussed. Then the mathematical deflection model of the electrode wire was established. By experimental measurements, the kerf width and the deflection of the electrode wire were obtained.

The effect of the cutting parameters on performance of WEDM
KSME International Journal, 2003In this study, variations of cutting performance with pulse time, open circuit voltage, wire speed and dielectric fluid pressure were experimentally investigated in Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) process. Brass wire with 0.25 mm diameter and AISI 4140 steel with 10 mm thickness were used as tool and work materials in the experiments.
