Examining the Degree of Duration Dependence in the Western Cape Labour Market [PDF]
This paper investigates the effects of long bouts of unemployment on the employment probabilities of the unemployed, and the factors affecting unemployment duration. This is achieved through the estimation of the hazard rate.

The Drug Safety Framework of Avacopan: A Pharmacovigilance Study
We identified 11 previously unreported potential adverse events associated with avacopan. No high‐priority clinical events were observed; however, special attention should be paid to the potential possibility of avacopan‐induced vanishing bile duct syndrome (Logos and icons displayed in the sections “Safety Framework” and “Data Sources and ...

Data‐Based Detection of Antagonistic Agents in a Robot Swarm Solving a Dynamic Coverage Task
ABSTRACT Robot swarms can be deployed as moving surveillance systems, for instance, as mobile anti‐poaching systems for monitoring wildlife and detecting poaching activities. Since poachers have an interest in evading detection, robots are at risk of being hijacked and manipulated to behave antagonistically, for example, to prevent the correct ...

Weibull Distribution with Linear Shape Function
The paper is intended to put forward a modified Weibull-type lifetime model. Modification consists of replacing the shape parameter of the original Weibull model with the shape function. It is self-evidently a novelty among lifetime models.

A discrete Weibull proportional odds survival model
The purpose of this paper is to present the development of the Proportional Odds Model for discrete time-to-event data in a survival analysis context. In this work, inferences about the model parameters considering the discrete Weibull as baseline distribution are presented, obtaining the point and interval estimates of the model parameters.

A Peridynamic Framework for Modeling Progressive Failure in Porous Sandstone Indentation
ABSTRACT A state‐based peridynamic model is proposed to simulate the failure mechanisms in porous rocks, using Bentheim sandstone as a specific example. Experimental observations reveal a transition from brittle to ductile failure under increasing triaxial compression. This behavior is attributed to pore compaction. The peridynamic model is enhanced to

On Order Restricted Inference in Multi‐Step Stage Life Testing for a General Family of Distributions
ABSTRACT Recently, k$$ k $$‐step stage life testing (SLT) has been proposed by Laumen and Cramer (2021) as a natural extension of progressive censoring with fixed censoring times (PC‐FCT) as well as of simple step‐stress accelerated life testing (SSALT).

An Exact Method for Reliable Shortest Path Problems With Correlation
ABSTRACT Shortest path problems often arise in contexts where travel times are uncertain. In these settings, reliable paths are often valued more than paths with lower expected travel times. This has led to several variants of reliable shortest path problems (RSPP) that handle travel time reliability differently. We propose an algorithmic framework for
