Pathway Extension of Weibull-Gamma Model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications, 2016
In this paper we develop a new family of Weibull-gamma model which is obtained by compounding a q-Weibull density with a two parameter gamma density. This class can be considered as a natural extension of the Weibull gamma model which accommodates various other useful statistical models.

Synergistic Enhancement of Electrical‐Thermal Properties in KH550/G‐POSS Functionalized BN/Epoxy Composites for High‐Frequency Transformer Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A BN@G‐POSS/EP nanocomposite is developed for high‐frequency transformer insulation in power electronic transformers. Through synergistic interface engineering, it simultaneously enhances thermal conductivity, reduces viscosity, and improves electro‐thermal stability.

Reliability Analysis of Switches and Crossings – A Case Study in Swedish Railway [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Railway Research, 2017
It is reported that switches and crossings (S&C) are one of the subsystems that cause the most delays on Swedish Railways while accounting for at least 13% of maintenance costs.

An Alternative to the Exponential and Weibull Reliability Models

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The two reliability models most widely used in engineering applications are the exponential and the Weibull. Both models are deficient because their failure rates do not conform to the bathtub curve nor specify the infant mortality period. In addition, Weibull applications require lifetime data which entails testing or field observations and is usually

Breaking the Trade‐Off of Mechanical Robustness and Energy Storage Capacity in Phase Change Materials Through a Molecular Design Strategy of Hard‐Segment‐Anchored/Side‐Chain‐Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To decouple mechanical robustness and energy storage capacity in phase change materials (PCMs), a series of polyurethane‐based PCMs bearing crystallizable alkyl side chains are synthesized via a hard‐segment‐anchored/side‐chain‐storage molecular design.

To Determine the Prognostic Factors in Esophageal Cancer using Log-Logistic Regression Model in Iran

open access: yesمجله اپیدمیولوژی ایران, 2011
Background and Objectives: Each year almost 400,000 people are diagnosed with oesophageal cancer worldwide. Wide variation in incidence has been reported both between countries and in different ethnic groups and populations within a country.

Strain‐Adaptive Dielectric Metamaterials via Bioinspired “Ligament‐Bone” Architecture for Ultrahigh‐Energy Capacitive Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired strain‐adaptive ligament‐bone architecture achieves record‐high energy density of 26.1 J cm−3 and 90% efficiency at 600 MV m−1, coupled with a Young's modulus of 2.13 GPa. ABSTRACT Polymer dielectrics for capacitive energy storage face fundamental trade‐offs between breakdown strength, energy density, efficiency, and mechanical robustness.

Liposomal Delivery of L‐2‐Hydroxyglutarate for Targeting Epigenetic Dysregulation in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Osteoarthritis involves cartilage degeneration, inflammation, and epigenetic dysregulation. A liposomal formulation of the TET1 inhibitor L‐2‐hydroxyglutarate to overcome rapid joint clearance was developed. The formulation showed good physicochemical properties, reduced inflammatory and catabolic gene expression in chondrocytes, and alleviated ...

Visual Responsivity in Autism: Measuring Visual Responses in Autistic and Non‐Autistic Adults Using Psychophysics, fMRI, and EEG

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autistic individuals frequently report heightened sensitivity to visual stimuli, often described as discomfort in environments with bright or flickering lights. These experiences are hypothesized to reflect underlying differences in sensory gain or neural hyperexcitability; however, findings across studies have yielded mixed results, likely ...

Temporal variations in flowering of 'Honeycrisp' apple grafted on eight different rootstocks

open access: yesHorticultural Science
Malus domestica is one of the world's most important deciduous fruit trees. Over a four-year period (2017-2020), temporal variations in flowering were evaluated in 'Honeycrisp' apple trees on eight rootstocks (G.30, G.969, G.202, G.41, G.11, M.9T337, M ...
