A New Rank Estimator for Least Squares Estimation of Weibull Modulus

open access: diamondGazi University Journal of Science
The Weibull distribution is widely used in reliability analysis to evaluate the failure behavior and lifetime characteristics of various systems and components. One of the most commonly used methods for estimating the parameters of the Weibull distribution is the ordinary least squares (OLS) technique, which is based on fitting a linear regression ...

Effect of infill strategy on the flexural strength of 3Y-TZP bars fabricated by thermoplastic 3D printing (T3DP)

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2023
Thermoplastic 3D printing (T3DP) is a ceramic additive-manufacturing (AM) process that uses a thermoplastic feedstock. During T3DP, parts are manufactured by rapid deposition of micron-sized droplets, which fuse and solidify to form lines that fuse ...

IMPROVEMENT OF THE WEIBULL MODULUS OF CERAMICS PRESSED WITH A VIBRATORY ASSISTANCE

open access: greenLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1986
The defects of compaction induced during the pressing of powders frequently act as microcracks which initiate the brittle fracture of ceramics. A vibratory assistance to the compaction reduces the scattering of size and limits the severity of flaws, which leads to an increase of the Weibull modulus.
