Chemical fracture and distribution of extreme values
When a corrosive solution reaches the limits of a solid sample, a chemical fracture occurs. An analytical theory for the probability of this chemical fracture is proposed and confirmed by extensive numerical experiments on a two dimensional model.

Emissions of unintentionally produced persistent organic pollutants (UPOPs) and global warming are two major environmental challenges. But their governance has largely evolved in parallel, leaving the toxicity implications of climate‐driven industrial transitions poorly understood.

Truncated models are imperative to efficiently analyze the finite data that we observe in almost all the real life situations. In this paper, a new truncated distribution having four parameters named Weibull-Truncated Exponential Distribution (W-TEXPD ...

Inference under progressively type II right censored sampling for certain lifetime distributions [PDF]
In this paper, estimation of the parameters of a certain family of two-parameter lifetime distributions based on progressively Type II right censored samples (including ordinary Type II right censoring) is studied.

Runtime Distributions and Criteria for Restarts
Randomized algorithms sometimes employ a restart strategy. After a certain number of steps, the current computation is aborted and restarted with a new, independent random seed. In some cases, this results in an improved overall expected runtime.

Stochastic order relations among parallel systems from Weibull distributions [PDF]
In this article, we focus on stochastic orders to compare the magnitudes of two parallel systems from Weibull distributions when one set of scale parameters majorizes the other. The new results obtained here extend some of those proved by Dykstra et al. (

Improved Estimation of Weibull Parameters Considering Unreliability Uncertainties [PDF]
We propose a linear regression method for estimating Weibull parameters from life tests. The method uses stochastic models of the unreliability at each failure instant. As a result, a heteroscedastic regression problem arises that is solved by weighted least squares minimization.

Hierarchical PP–LSR107–BaTiO3 nanocomposite films are fabricated by one‐step extrusion and stretching for roll‐to‐roll manufacture, combining high energy storage and processing flexibility. LSR107 surrounds BaTiO3‐rich regions, locating amorphous PP, decreasing defects, and introducing deep traps that homogenize the electric field and suppress charge ...

In this article, we introduce a new three-parameter distribution called the extended inverse-Gompertz (EIGo) distribution. The implementation of three parameters provides a good reconstruction for some applications.

Clotrimazole‐loaded PLGA microparticles for local drug delivery to the vagina: Shape does matter
Clotrimazole‐loaded PLGA microparticles for intravaginal delivery. Abstract Background Intravaginal drug administration is the most promising strategy for treating vaginal infections to protect women's health, such as vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). However, conventional vaginal formulations in the clinic face challenges such as drug leakage and low ...
