Diagnostic tools in generalized Weibull linear regression models
Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2013We propose some statistical tools for diagnosing the class of generalized Weibull linear regression models [A.A. Prudente and G.M. Cordeiro, Generalized Weibull linear models, Comm. Statist. Theory Methods 39 (2010), pp. 3739–3755]. This class of models is an alternative means of analysing positive, continuous and skewed data and, due to its ...

Omitted variables in a weibull regression model
Economics Letters, 1984Asymptotic biases of maximum likelihood and least squares estimators in a Weibull model, subject to omitted variables, are given. The results are contrasted to those of a small sample Monte Carlo experiment.

Estimation of Weibull parameters with linear regression method
Materials Science and Technology, 2010Based on minimum mean square error, a modified probability estimator is proposed by a Monte Carlo simulation for estimating the Weibull parameters with the linear regression method. It is shown that compared with the commonly used estimators, the modified probability estimator gives a more accurate estimation of the Weibull modulus and the same ...

The Constant Shape Parameter Assumption in Weibull Regression
Quality Engineering, 2015ABSTRACTThe usual assumption in Weibull regression is that the scale parameter is a function of the predictor variables, and the shape parameter is constant. We consider the problem of estimating parameters in the presence of a nonconstant shape parameter and the effect of assuming a constant shape parameter when it really is not constant.

Estimation in weibull regression model with measurement error
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1999A new estimator is proposed for the Weibull regression model with mea¬surement error. The naive estimator obtained by ignoring measurement error is asymptotically biased. This new estimator is established based on the fact that asymptotically the naive estimator converges to the true parameter times an attenuation factor.

A Nonproportional Hazards Weibull Accelerated Failure Time Regression Model
Biometrics, 1991We present a study of risk factors measured in mean before age 50 and subsequent incidence of heart disease over 32 years of follow-up. The data are from the Framingham Heart Study. The standard accelerated failure time model assumes the logarithm of time until an event has a constant dispersion parameter and a location parameter that is a linear ...

Unbiased Weibull capabilities indices using multiple linear regression
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2017Although the recently proposed Weibull process capability indices (PCIs) actually measure the times that the standard deviation (σx) is within the tolerance specifications, because they not accurately estimate neither the log‐mean (μx) nor the σx values, then the actual PCIs are biased.

Random effects Weibull regression model for occupational lifetime
European Journal of Operational Research, 2007High job turnover rate can cause many problems and each company needs proper strategies to prevent the brain-drain of its manpower. For effective human resource management, predicting the occupational life expectancy or the mean residual life of those who are to leave and join another company is important.
