The Late-Weichselian flora of the Isle of Man

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. B, Biological Sciences, 1970
Abstract The last glacial deposits of the Ballaugh-Kirkmichael area in the north-east of the Isle of Man have been investigated by analysis of pollen and macroscopic fossils and by radiocarbon dating. Assemblages totalling over 160 taxa of vascular plants and mosses have been recorded from strata referred to LateWeichselian zones I ...

Late Weichselian Palaeomagnetic Reversal

Nature Physical Science, 1971
AS part of the joint European work on the establishment of a world standard section for the Pleistocene/Holocene boundary, an oriented core 14.5 m long was taken with the Swedish foil piston corer in the Botanical Garden of Gothenburg (south-west Sweden).

Geomorphological evolution of a Lowland valley system during the Weichselian

Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 1986
AbstractWeichselian geomorphological and fluvial evolution has been recorded in the valley fill of the Reusel, a small tributary of the lower Maas river. It has been studied by means of borehole sections. A first deep incision into the substratum occurred during the Early Weichselian‐Lower Pleniglacial.

Weichselian sediment succession at Ruunaa, Finland, indicating a Mid‐Weichselian ice‐free interval in eastern Fennoscandia

Boreas, 2008
Core material obtained from three boreholes was studied from the Ruunaa area, Finnish northern Karelia, in order to reveal the Late Pleistocene environmental history of eastern Finland. Conventional litho‐ and biostratigraphical methods were used and suitable sediment samples were dated using quartz optically stimulated luminescence.

Weichselian Convolution Phenomena and processes in fine sediments.

Boreas, 1982
In three excavations in the southern Netherlands and northern Belgium, the Weichselian convolutions in fine sand, silt and clay deposits were investigated, and an attempt was made towards a semi‐quantitative approach to some sediment parameters.
