A novel weight function for RMS stress intensity factor determination in surface cracks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper discusses the problem of stress intensity factor determination in surface cracks. In particular, the concept of root mean square stress intensity factors (RMS SIF) is discussed for the general class of semi-elliptical surface cracks.

Spherical approximating and interpolating moving least squares in geodesy and geophysics: a case study for deriving gravity acceleration at sea surface in the Persian Gulf

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2020
This paper is aimed at introducing the concept of Spherical Interpolating Moving Least Squares to the problems in geodesy and geophysics. Based on two previously known methods, namely Spherical Moving Least Squares and Interpolating Moving Least Squares,

Hypotheses Tests for Circular Data in Weighted Sampling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2023
This paper is concerned with the problem of statistical hypotheses testing in circular data under weighted sampling. The most powerful test has been obtained when the sampling is subjected to a weight function. Different weight functions are examined for

Weighted biharmonic green functions for rational weights [PDF]

open access: yesGlasgow Mathematical Journal, 1999
This paper deals with weighted biharmonic operators of the form \(\Delta|P'|^2\Delta\) on the unit disc, where \(\Delta\) is the Laplacian and \(P\) is a rational function. The existence of the Green function for this operator is established for any rational function \(P\), and an algorithm is provided for obtaining it (by solving a certain system of ...

Generalizations of Hardy's integral inequalities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1999
This paper deals with some new generalizations of Hardy's integral inequalities. Some cases concerning whether the constant factors involved in these inequalities are best possible are discussed in some detail.

A Hilbert-type fractal integral inequality and its applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
By using thefractal theory and the methods of weight function, a Hilbert-type fractal integral inequality and its equivalent form are given. Their constant factors are proved being the best possible, and their applications are discussed briefly.

The Multi-Parametric Weight Optimization of a Hydraulic Actuator

open access: yesActuators, 2020
This research was derived from the experimental observation that hydraulic actuators are positioned on machines that are subjected to movements and whose dynamic actions, the accelerations, are very high; it is acceptable to think of an actuator for an ...

A weighted Möbius function

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2017
For a fixed odd prime $\ell$, we define a variant of the classical Möbius function on the poset of isomorphism classes of finite abelian $\ell$-groups, then we prove an analog of Hall's theorem on the vanishing of the Möbius function.
