MICRO-FRACTURE SIMULATION IN HUMAN VERTEBRAL BODY DUE TO WEIGHT LIFTING [PDF]
Lumbar vertebrae are a heavily loaded component of the human body. They are subjected to repetitive loading in daily activities. However, limited information on failure mechanism of lumbar vertebrae are available to date.

Substrate Engineering for Durable Omniphobic Liquid‐Like Surfaces
The significant yet less investigated role of substrates in determining the liquid‐repellency and mechanical durability of liquid‐like surfaces (LLSs) is explored. Thick and crack‐free sol–gel silica intermediary layers are developed that can smoothen substrate asperity roughness even at the micron scale, enabling omniphobic polydimethylsiloxane‐based ...

The Kudla lift studied in this article is a classical version for Picard modular forms of the automorphic theta lift between $\text{GU}(2)$ and $\text{GU}(3)$. We construct an explicit $p$-adic analytic family of Picard modular forms varying with respect to the weight and level, which interpolates a so-called $p$-modification of the lift at arithmetic ...

High Performance Room Temperature Multiferroic Properties of w‐MnSe Altermagnet
Using first‐principles calculations, for the first time the Altermagneto‐Ferroelectric Coupling Effect (AFCE) is proposed, which enables control of both electric polarization and spin splitting in the band structure due to polyhedral rotations. This uncovers robust multiferroicity in wurtzite MnSe at room temperature, offering an exciting route for ...

Investigation of the Effects of Teeth Clenching Due to Weight Training on Oral Health
Background: As interest in health increases, the number of people engaging in weight training to enhance muscle strength and muscle mass is on the rise. High-intensity weight training has been reported to induce tooth clenching habits, leading to tooth

Lift zonoid order and functional inequalities [PDF]
We introduce the notion of a weighted lift zonoid and show that, for properly chosen weights v, the ordering condition on a measure \mu, formulated in terms of the weighted lift zonoids of this measure, leads to certain functional inequalities for this measure, such as non-linear extensions of Bobkov's shift inequality and weighted inverse log-Sobolev ...

This work develops an ultrarobust, flexible, and solvent‐free eutectic gel featuring stretch‐induced orientation. Overcoming hydrogel limitations, the gel achieves record toughness (133.86 MJ m−3) while integrating strain/temperature/capacitive sensing.

The Support Designs of Several Families of Lifted Linear Codes [PDF]
A generator matrix of a linear code $\C$ over $\gf(q)$ is also a matrix of the same rank $k$ over any extension field $\gf(q^\ell)$ and generates a linear code of the same length, same dimension and same minimum distance over $\gf(q^\ell)$, denoted by $\C(q|q^\ell)$ and called a lifted code of $\C$.

Shintani lifts and fractional derivatives for harmonic weak Maass forms [PDF]
In this paper, we construct Shintani lifts from integral weight weakly holomorphic modular forms to half-integral weight weakly holomorphic modular forms. Although defined by different methods, these coincide with the classical Shintani lifts when restricted to the space of cusp forms.
