Weight Approximation for Spatial Outcomes [PDF]
When preferences explicitly include a spatial component, it can be challenging to assign weights to geographic regions in a way that is both pragmatic and accurate. In multi-attribute decision making, weights reflect cardinal information about preferences that can be difficult to assess thoroughly in practice.

Approximation Algorithms for Maximum Weighted Throughput on Unrelated Machines [PDF]
We study the classic weighted maximum throughput problem on unrelated machines. We give a (1-1/e-ε)-approximation algorithm for the preemptive case. To our knowledge this is the first ever approximation result for this problem.

A new construction of Lupaş operators and its approximation properties
The aim of this paper is to study a new generalization of Lupaş-type operators whose construction depends on a real-valued function ρ by using two sequences u m $u_{m} $ and v m $v_{m}$ of functions.

Trigonometric Approximation by Modulus of Smoothness in Lp,α (X)
In this paper, we study the approximate properties of functions by means of trigonometric polynomials in weighted spaces. Relationships between modulus of smoothness of function derivatives and those of the jobs themselves are introduced. In the weighted

On ( p , q ) $(p,q)$ -Szász-Mirakyan operators and their approximation properties
In the present paper, we introduce a new modification of Szász-Mirakyan operators based on ( p , q ) $(p, q)$ -integers and investigate their approximation properties. We obtain weighted approximation and Voronovskaya-type theorem for new operators.

Automated analysis of weighted voting games [PDF]
Weighted voting games (WVGs) are an important mechanism for modeling scenarios where a group of agents must reach agreement on some issue over which they have different preferences.

Improved approximation algorithms for optimization problems in graphs with superlogarithmic treewidth [PDF]
In this paper we present two novel generic schemes for approximation algorithms for optimization to partial k-trees. Our first scheme yields deterministic polynomialtime algorithms achieving typically an approximation factor of k/ log n, where k

Certain Generalized q-Operators
The applications of q-calculus in the approximation theory is a very interesting area of research in the recent years, several new q-operators were introduced and their behaviour were discussed by many researchers.
