Approximation of weighted classes

Russian Mathematical Surveys, 1981
Considering the definition \(K_{\epsilon}(A,X)=\inf \{n: d_ n(A,X)\leq \epsilon \}\) where \(d_ n(A,X)\) is the Kolmogorov diameter, the author gives estimates for \(K_{\epsilon}(W_ p^{r,\alpha}(\Omega_ T),L_ s\Omega_ T)\) and for \(K_{\epsilon}(W_ p^{r,\alpha,\beta}(\Omega_ T),L_ s(\Omega_ T))\).

Weighted Best Polynomial Approximation

1987
For some weight functions, including Jacobi weights, we relate the best weighted polynomial approximation and asymptotic behavior of the derivatives of the optimal polynomials to weighted main-part moduli of smoothness.

On weighted L p simultaneous approximation

Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 1996
In this paper the author discusses the simultaneous approximation of a function and of its derivatives in weighted \(L^p\) spaces. Both trigonometric polynomial approximation and algebraic polynomial approximation are discussed. In the case of trigonometric polynomial approximation the weight function is supposed to belong to the Muckenhoupt class.
