Local Search and the Evolution of World Models
Abstract An open question regarding how people develop their models of the world is how new candidates are generated for consideration out of infinitely many possibilities. We discuss the role that evolutionary mechanisms play in this process. Specifically, we argue that when it comes to developing a global world model, innovation is necessarily ...

On Convexity of Composition and Multiplication Operators on Weighted Hardy Spaces
A bounded linear operator T on a Hilbert space ℋ, satisfying ‖T2h‖2+‖h‖2≥2‖Th‖2 for every h∈ℋ, is called a convex operator. In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which a convex composition operator on a large class of weighted ...

On estimations of solutions of one convolution type equation
We consider a convolution type equation in a semi-strip for the functions belonging to the Hardy-Smirnov space. Estimations of solutions are obtained in terms of analytic continuation.

THE ANALOG CITY: Maintaining Everyday Life Through Repair and Jugaad
Abstract Urban scholarship consistently discusses improvisation and heterogeneity as central to urban life in the global South. In this article, I bring together scholarship on urban improvisation and the digital world of smart cities to understand the city as analog.

Weighted Hardy and Potential Operators in Morrey Spaces [PDF]
We study the weightedp→q-boundedness of Hardy-type operators in Morrey spacesℒp,λ(ℝn) (orℒp,λ(ℝ+1) in the one-dimensional case) for a class of almost monotonic weights. The obtained results are applied to a similar weightedp→q-boundedness of the Riesz potential operator.

Statewide sanctuary policies and female homicide rates, 2016–2021
Abstract The current study examines whether state immigration enforcement policies, such as sanctuary policies that limit local police cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, are associated with female homicide rates in the United States (2016–2021).

Invertible weighted composition operators in the unit ball
The operator Cψ,φ that maps a holomorphic function f to ψ*f。φis called weighted composition operator, where ψ is a holomorphic function and φ is a holomorphic map.

Intra‐ and Interspecific Effects on Spatio‐Temporal Behavior of Common Commensal Rodent Species
This study revealed major findings on spatio‐temporal behavior of commensal rodents on a pig farm showing the influence of interspecific dominance on movement behavior and the resulting species‐specific ecological adaptations. Additionally, rodents tend to stay in their home ranges and migration to other stable buildings is only rare.

Carleson Measure Theorems for Large Hardy-Orlicz and Bergman-Orlicz Spaces
We characterize those measures μ for which the Hardy-Orlicz (resp., weighted Bergman-Orlicz) space HΨ1 (resp., AαΨ1) of the unit ball of CN embeds boundedly or compactly into the Orlicz space LΨ2(BN¯,μ) (resp., LΨ2(BN,μ)), when the defining functions Ψ1 ...
