An INS/WiFi Indoor Localization System Based on the Weighted Least Squares [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2018
For smartphone indoor localization, an INS/WiFi hybrid localization system is proposed in this paper. Acceleration and angular velocity are used to estimate step lengths and headings. The problem with INS is that positioning errors grow with time.

Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) Localization Combining Weighted Least Squares and Firefly Algorithm. [PDF]

open access: yesSensors (Basel), 2019
Time difference of arrival (TDoA) based on a group of sensor nodes with known locations has been widely used to locate targets. Two-step weighted least squares (TSWLS), constrained weighted least squares (CWLS), and Newton–Raphson (NR) iteration are ...

A new justification of the Hartung-Knapp method for random-effects meta-analysis based on weighted least squares regression. [PDF]

open access: yesRes Synth Methods, 2019
The Hartung‐Knapp method for random‐effects meta‐analysis, that was also independently proposed by Sidik and Jonkman, is becoming advocated for general use.

Robust Time-Difference-of-Arrival (TDOA) Localization Using Weighted Least Squares with Cone Tangent Plane Constraint. [PDF]

open access: yesSensors (Basel), 2018
Finding the position of a radiative source based on time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements from spatially separated receivers has been widely applied in sonar, radar, mobile communications and sensor networks.

Boosted optimal weighted least-squares [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2022
This paper is concerned with the approximation of a function u u in a given subspace V m V_m of dimension m m from evaluations of the function at n n suitably chosen points. The aim is to construct an approximation of u u in V

Accelerated failure-time model with weighted least-squares estimation: application on survival of HIV positives [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Public Health, 2021
Background Survival analysis is the most appropriate method of analysis for time-to-event data. The classical accelerated failure-time model is a more powerful and interpretable model than the Cox proportional hazards model, provided that model imposed ...

Estimating Detection Limits in Chromatography from Calibration Data: Ordinary Least Squares Regression vs. Weighted Least Squares

open access: yesSeparations, 2018
It is necessary to determine the limit of detection when validating any analytical method. For methods with a linear response, a simple and low labor-consuming procedure is to use the linear regression parameters obtained in the calibration to estimate ...
