On minimum sum representations for weighted voting games [PDF]
A proposal in a weighted voting game is accepted if the sum of the (non-negative) weights of the "yea" voters is at least as large as a given quota. Several authors have considered representations of weighted voting games with minimum sum, where the ...

Noise Enhancement for Weighted Sum of Type I and II Error Probabilities with Constraints
In this paper, the noise-enhanced detection problem is investigated for the binary hypothesis-testing. The optimal additive noise is determined according to a criterion proposed by DeGroot and Schervish (2011), which aims to minimize the weighted sum of ...

A Relativistic Thomas-Fermi Description of Collective Modes in Droplets of Nuclear Matter [PDF]
Isoscalar collective modes in a relativistic meson-nucleon system are investigated in the framework of the time-dependent Thomas-Fermi method. The energies of the collective modes are determined by solving consistently the dispersion relations and the ...

iMASKO: A Genetic Algorithm Based Optimization Framework for Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper we present the design and implementation of a generic GA-based optimization framework iMASKO (iNL@MATLAB Genetic Algorithm-based Sensor NetworK Optimizer) to optimize the performance metrics of wireless sensor networks.

Sums of Weighted Differentiation Composition Operators [PDF]
We solve an interpolation problem in $A^p_ $ involving specifying a set of (possibly not distinct) $n$ points, where the $k^{\textrm{th}}$ derivative at the $k^{\textrm{th}}$ point is up to a constant as large as possible for functions of unit norm. The solution obtained has norm bounded by a constant independent of the points chosen.

Multimodal biometrics is the technique of using multiple modalities on a single system. This allows us to overcome the limitations of unimodal systems, such as the inability to acquire data from certain individuals or intentional fraud, while improving ...

Effect of Tensor Correlations on Gamow-Teller States in 90Zr and 208Pb [PDF]
The tensor terms of the Skyrme effective interaction are included in the self-consistent Hartree-Fock plus Random Phase Approximation (HF+RPA) model. The Gamow-Teller (GT) strength function of 90Zr and 208Pb are calculated with and without the tensor ...

Homogeneous weights and exponential sums
Let \({\mathbb F}_{q}\) be a finite field of characteristic \(p\) with \(q=p^{ \mu}\) elements, and \(W_{l}({\mathbb F}_{q})\) the ring of Witt vectors of length \(l\) over \({\mathbb F}_{q}\). The ring \(W_{l}({\mathbb F}_{q})\) is a finite local ring with \(q^{l}\) elements. The maximal ideal of \(W_{l}({\mathbb F}_{q})\) is generated by \(p\), and \(

The Energy-Weighted and Non Energy-Weighted Gamow-Teller Sum Rules in Relativistic Random Phase Approximation [PDF]
The non energy-weighted Gamow-Teller(GT) sum rule is satisfied in relativistic models, when all nuclear density-dependent terms, including Pauli blocking terms from nucleon-antinucleon excitations, are taken into account in the RPA correlation function ...
