The homogeneous errors-in-variables (HEIV) model is extended from the regular EIV model for a more wide range of applications. Necessary constraints are imposed to avoid trivial solution or provide ancillary information of parameters. For the constrained

Weighted Total Least Squares based Online Calibration Method for RSS based Localization
IEEE/RJS International Conference on Intelligent RObots and Systems, 2018In the received signal strength (RSS) based localization, a model-based calibration approach has been usually done by relating RSS-to-distance among anchor nodes. In this paper, an improved calibration method is proposed.

On non-combinatorial weighted total least squares with inequality constraints
Journal of Geodesy, 2014Observation systems known as errors-in-variables (EIV) models with model parameters estimated by total least squares (TLS) have been discussed for more than a century, though the terms EIV and TLS were coined much more recently. So far, it has only been shown that the inequality-constrained TLS (ICTLS) solution can be obtained by the combinatorial ...

A weighted total least-squares algorithm for fitting a straight line
Measurement Science and Technology, 2007The well-known problem of fitting a straight line to data with uncertainties in both coordinates is revisited. An algorithm is developed which treats x- and y-data in a symmetrical way. The problem is reduced to a one-dimensional search for a minimum.
