Approximation Algorithms for Multicoloring Planar Graphs and Powers of Square and Triangular Meshes
A multicoloring of a weighted graph G is an assignment of sets of colors to the vertices of G so that two adjacent vertices receive two disjoint sets of colors. A multicoloring problem on G is to find a multicoloring of G.

Approximation properties of two dimensional Bernstein-Stancu-Chlodowsky operators
In this paper, as a generalization of Bernstein-Stancu type operators of two variable, we introduce a new positive linear operator called Bernstein-Stancu-Chlodowsky on a triangular domain, with mobile boundaries, which extends to [0, ∞) × [0, ∞) as n → ∞

Interior penalty discontinuous galerkin methods for electromagnetic and acoustic wave equations [PDF]
Introduction: In this thesis we present and analyze the numerical approximation of the second order electromagnetic and acoustic wave equation by the interior penalty (IP) discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element method (FEM).

Compact and stable discontinuous Galerkin methods for convection-diffusion problems [PDF]
We present a new scheme, the compact discontinuous Galerkin 2 (CDG2) method, for solving nonlinear convection-diffusion problems together with a detailed comparison to other well-accepted DG methods.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Metric Based Upscaling for Partial Differential Equations with a Continuum of Scales [PDF]
Numerical upscaling of problems with multiple scale structures have attracted increasing attention in recent years. In particular, problems with non-separable scales pose a great challenge to mathematical analysis and simulation.

Objective Cam morphology, which is a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
