Weil pairing on twisted curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We define and study the Weil pairing on the moduli of twisted curves. If $X$ is a twisted curve, then we can combinatorially describe a certain subgroup and a quotient group of $\text{Pic}(X)[2]$ that are Weil dual. Moreover, the pairing between them can

Efficient algorithms for pairing-based cryptosystems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We describe fast new algorithms to implement recent cryptosystems based on the Tate pairing. In particular, our techniques improve pairing evaluation speed by a factor of about 55 compared to previously known methods in characteristic 3, and attain ...

Computational and Energy Costs of Cryptographic Algorithms on Handheld Devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Networks are evolving toward a ubiquitous model in which heterogeneous devices are interconnected. Cryptographic algorithms are required for developing security solutions that protect network activity. However, the computational and energy limitations

On the Weil-étale Cohomology of S-Integers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We generalize the Lichtenbaum's prototype of Weil-étale cohomology to S-integers and study its relation to the Tate sequences. In the final part, we present a more natural way to define Weil-étale cohomology for one-dimensional arithmetic schemes ...

Investigating power and fault analysis with specific application to bilinear pairings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The security of bilinear pairings against implementation attacks such as side channel and fault attacks is largely an uncharted area of research. Apart from one publication on the topic, coverage of this area is non-existent. Armed with the fact that the

Mechanics and dynamics of X-chromosome pairing at X inactivation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
At the onset of X-chromosome inactivation, the vital process whereby female mammalian cells equalize X products with respect to males, the X chromosomes are colocalized along their Xic (X-inactivation center) regions. The mechanism inducing recognition

Anonymous Routing Protocol Based on Weil Pairing for Wireless Mesh Networks

open access: yes, 2015
This paper proposes an efficient, secure and anonymous routing protocol based on Weil pairing for wireless mesh networks (WMNs). The proposed protocol considers symmetric and asymmetric links during wireless communication in WMNs.

Reducing the Complexity of the Weil Pairing Computation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we present some new variants based on the Weil pairing for efficient pairing computations. The new pairing variants have the short Miller iteration loop and simple final exponentiation.

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
