Modelling the process of formation of welding aerosol in welding of mining equipment

Welding International, 2012
The thermodynamic model of the formation of welding aerosol is proposed. The thermodynamic parameters of chemical compounds and aerosol phases are calculated. A program is proposed for the numerical calculation of the level of generation of various elements with the variation of the parameters which control the welding conditions.

Impact welding and ripple formation

Journal of Applied Physics, 1975
Rippled metallic surfaces have been produced as a result of ballistic impact as well as the movement of high-pressure (explosive) gas over a metal plate. Such loading conditions produce a strong shock wave. Under the high pressure, metal plate surfaces are plastically deformed and sometimes are welded together. These welds are sometimes associated with

Energy Parameters of Weld Formation Process in MIG-MAG Welding

Materials Science Forum, 2018
The article presents results of an experimental study and simulation of the effect of welding arc energy characteristics on the nature of electrode metal transfer in MIG-MAG welding. Based on the research results, a method has been developed for determining the coefficient of welding arc plasma flow pressure.

Wave formation in explosive welding

The Philosophical Magazine: A Journal of Theoretical Experimental and Applied Physics, 1968
Abstract The interface between explosively welded metals frequently exhibits a regular wave-like profile. The circumstances under which such a profile develops are not fully understood, and existing theories fail to predict some of its observed characteristics.

Influence of Welding Current on Formation of Weld Bead in TIG Welding for Joining Thin Plates

Advanced Engineering Forum, 2018
In this paper, a new (novel) welding technology has been applied to join 0.1 mm thin plates. An initial study on the influence of welding current on the welding properties for stainless steel SUS304 plates is discussed in this paper. The weld bead appearance on both top surface and bottom surface was observed by microscope to indicate the change of ...

The Formation of Cracks after Welding

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1939
SOME kinds of chrome‐molybdenum steels widely employed in the construction of aeroplanes, the chrome‐manganese‐silicon steels introduced comparatively recently and even some carbon steels with a higher content than 0·2 per cent. carbon show minute cracks after welding with oxy‐acctylene, even when the actual operation of welding is carried out ...

Characterization of welding arc and weld pool formation in vacuum gas hollow tungsten arc welding

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2013
Abstract An experimental method is suggested to obtain the effective arc radii for various welding conditions in vacuum gas hollow tungsten arc welding. The irradiance distribution of welding arc next above the anode workpiece is obtained by applying Abel inversion algorithm to the CCD arc image, and then used to determine the distribution of arc ...
