Forming Completely Penetrated Welded T-joints when Pulsed Arc Welding

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
The paper is focused on revealing the influence of welding parameters on weld formation when pulsed arc welding. As an experimental sample a T-joint over 10 mm was selected. Welding was carried out in flat position, which required no edge preparation but provided mono-directional guaranteed root penetration.

Effect of Yb2O3 on superplastic behavior of laser welded joint of TC4 titanium alloy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture, 2023
The inhomogeneity of joints during superplastic deformation greatly limits the application of laser beam welding/superplastic forming (LBW/SPF). In order to adjust the deformation uniformity of the joint, Yb2O3 with different mass fractions was added to ...

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability
