Laser Welding of Metal

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Welding Society, 1981
In CO2 laser welding of stainless steel plate, correlation between travelling velocity and dimensions of the weld bead is examined over a wide range of 0 2-200 m/min. The interaction between the cavity and the incident beam is analyzed. The penetration depth and joining rate are estimated on the basis of this correlation and the heat conduction theory.

Atomized Oxidative Polymerization as a 3D Printing Platform for Binder‐Free, Bulk Conductive Polymer Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐delivery of electrosprayed EDOT and oxidant enables bulk oxidative polymerization during layer‐by‐layer fabrication, creating stable, highly conductive 3D PEDOT structures. This Atomized Oxidative Polymerization (AOP) overcomes the surface deposition‐only and matrix‐limited conductivity of conventional Vapor Phase Polymerization (VPP) and PEDOT:PSS ...

Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.

Post-weld Heat Treatment and Groove Angles Affect the Mechanical Properties of T92/Super 304H Dissimilar Steel Weld Joints

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2018
The microstructures and mechanical properties of dissimilar weld joints between T92 and Super 304H steels were investigated. Dissimilar weld joints with four groove angles were constructed using gas tungsten arc welding. The results showed that post-weld
