Strip loading in reinforced concrete: Mechanical modeling and experimental validation
Abstract Strip loading of reinforced concrete is a common problem in engineering practice. The concrete compressive strength at the load introduction can be several times higher than the uniaxial concrete compressive strength, which can be attributed to geometrical and passive confining stresses caused by load dispersion and reinforcement, respectively.

Behaviour of reinforced welded tubular joints
In the offshore industry, a common operation problem is the last minute change of barge scheduled for transporting an offshore jacket to the designated location for installation while fabrication of the jacket is almost complete. Arising from this last minute alteration and/or addition of loading conditions, some of the tubular joints need to be ...

Abstract Reinforced concrete (RC) beams can be subjected to torsion, and failure due to torsion is brittle and poses a significant risk to occupants. Moreover, strengthening of existing RC beams in torsion may be required due to the upgrade of the structures or as part of structural rehabilitation.

Strip loading in steel fiber reinforced concrete: Experimental and theoretical investigation
Abstract Fiber reinforced concrete is becoming increasingly popular in engineering practice due to its high robustness, post‐cracking behavior, and crack control. For strip loading, as common, for example, in longitudinal joints of tunnel lining segments, the use of fiber reinforced concrete has the potential to reduce conventional reinforcement ...

Behaviour of riveted connections reinforced by welding
This thesis focuses on studying the possibility of reinforcing riveted connections of stringer-to-floor-beam connections in ancient railway bridge through welding. The primary objective of this study is to comprehend the welding's impact on residual stress development.

Abstract Reinforced concrete flat slabs are widely employed in contemporary architecture due to their structural efficiency and construction simplicity; however, their susceptibility to punching shear failure remains a critical design concern, particularly at slab–column connections where concentrated loads occur.

Effect of post‐aging conditions on mechanical and thermal properties of FDM‐printed parts. ABSTRACT In this study, the thermal and hydrothermal aging of TPU produced with the FDM technique was simulated and subjected to a series of tests. The alterations in the internal structures of the samples that had been subjected to tensile, hardness, adhesive ...

ABSTRACT Thermoplastic composite pipes (TCPs) have potential applications in offshore oil and gas industries because of their strength, lack of corrosion, and flexibility. Designed for fluid transportation in high‐pressure and high‐temperature environments, manufacturing defects and operational loads can compromise their performance.
