Micro Discharge Welding and Joint Reinforcement by Non-contact Welding Method

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Powder Technology, Japan, 2005
Newly developed manipulator using microprobe has a function of welding for small metal particles. The welding is carried out by contact discharge welding method and non-contact discharge welding method. High voltages are applied to the probe when the probe touches the particle with the former method, while it is applied when the probe is positioned at ...

Rib‐Reinforced Ultralight and Ultra‐Strong Shell Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study thoroughly reveals the relation between the curvature and stress direction of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) thin shell lattices and proposes a novel rib reinforcement design strategy to incorporate ribs along the line of asymptotes (LOA) and the line of principal curvatures (LOC) to enhance the strength of ultralight TPMS shell ...

Monolithic 3D Printing of Origami‐Inspired Soft Robotics from Sustainable Bio‐Based Resin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work develops a photocurable, bio‐based resin from soybean oil for the monolithic fabrication of sustainable soft robots via Digital Light Processing. An origami‐inspired, vacuum‐actuated soft gripper is designed and fabricated, enabling reliable operation despite the material's lower elongation.

Beyond Cocrystals: Hierarchical Functional Assemblies via Noncovalent Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Non‐covalent interactions (NCIs) drive the formation of organic cocrystals with diverse structures and tunable optoelectronic properties. This review explores the essential factors governing these properties, highlighting how the sequential nucleation of cocrystals leads to the self‐assembly of organic hierarchical structures (OHSs).

Wearable Cooling Textiles of Thermal Conduction and Sweat Transfer for Personal Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructs a three‐dimensional thermal‐conductive pathway using biomass‐based fibers. The thermally conductive composite fibers were designed into Janus‐structured fabrics. The wearable cooling textile exhibits unidirectional moisture‐wicking properties (476% index), a high water evaporation rate (5209.92 g/m2/day), and effective skin ...
