Measuring laser weldability of aluminium alloys using controlled restraint weldability test
Science and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2013Al–Mg–Si alloys are known to be highly susceptible to solidification cracking. Weldability results of laminated AA6061-T6 plates are presented in this paper when welded in full penetration keyhole mode using a 1030 nm, 10 kW Yb:YAG disk laser welding source with different welding conditions.

Abstract This article describes the weldability tests that are used to evaluate the effects of welding on such properties and characteristics as base-metal and weld-metal cracking; base-metal and weld-metal ductility; weld penetration; and weld pool shape and fluid flow. It also describes several weldability tests for evaluating cracking

Weldability of beta titanium arch wires
American Journal of Orthodontics, 1984Beta titanium arch wire segments were joined in a variety of configurations by means of four different commercial welders available to the orthodontist. Test specimens were prepared using the point-to-point and flat-to-flat electrode configurations and a range of settings on each welding apparatus.

1. Weldable high-strength steels can be divided into two groups: those with a ferrito-pearlitic structure and those consisting of acicular upper troostite. Steels of the first group are used either as-rolled or normalized. Their tensile strength is 55–71 kg/sq. mm; their weldability and impact toughness are good.

Alloy Digest, 2014
Abstract Alloy IN 939 was developed for turbine airfoils and has been used extensively in industrial gas turbines. However, the development of the alloy and the joining technology required for application to large structural components in aero engines includes risks. This datasheet covers a weldable version of the alloy.
