Manganese-induced parkinsonism has been recognized since 1837. It has been reported primarily in miners, grinders, and smelters since that time. More recently, isolated case reports involving welders have appeared in the medical literature. Manganism can be distinguished from other forms of parkinsonism by clinical presentation with support from ...

Influence of welding conditions on resistance flash welds
International Journal of Microstructure and Materials Properties, 2013The contribution gives an insight into resistance flash welding with emphasis on process dynamics. For the experiments ribbed mild steel concrete reinforcement bars were used with a range of welding parameters used in a normal welding praxis. The welded bars were tested for tensile strength and the results were used to develop a regression model.

Welding Safety Measures and Welding Filters
1991The welder can quickly handle numerous welding tasks under continuous quality control. For this reason manual welding will allways be needed as a complement to automatic welding. During welding the eyes are exposed to such an extreme environment that the biological defense is insufficient.
